Week 15

Since the second month we have found we are pregnant we wanted to have photos with the pregnancy progress. Philippe decided to shave his beard so that both of us can have something that is growing as weeks go by.

So, as the planning showed, 2 days ago it was the time to make the traditional weekly photo (not to mention that even though we decided to have it every Monday, almost every time we are postponing it by one day, two days or even with four, as the current case; at least we are photographing something and it doesn’t matter if they are made with a perfect seven days gap between). Thus, ambitious to get the photo done, we dressed ourselves with the proper outfits, I was wearing a grey slim dress to show off the belly better, and he was wearing a black t-shirt, again to be a backdrop for me. While we were so beautifully dressed, after the photo shoot was done we continued to play with that nice energy and decided to dance for a few minutes as we were at one of the prettiest parties in Kulturhaus (night club in Bucharest) 1500 years ago.

At some point I turned my head so I could see myself in the mirror. And I could make an evaluation of the current state of my body, especially my feet, fact that didn’t trilled me at all. Until now I’ve been avoiding this kind of evaluations because I was aware that there will be big changes, both because of being pregnant but also because of the way I eat, extremely unorganised, limited and containing things that are not necessary in the healthy section. Somewhere deep down I know that there were moments when I covered the laziness under the shape of feeling nauseous and vomiting (only some times; the sickness is real). I don't want to complain about it but still it is very hard to exercise when you are vomiting every day and the whole day feels like you are driving on the Transfăgărășani road (mountain road in Romania), even though you are a person with motion sickness.

I have no doubt whatsoever that the hormones presence is extremely high in my body and my head, and that they are influencing a lot my emotions, but my feet which are away from being in a fit shape have made me realise that I can still do a few things to help me feel better, both physically and mentally. I already surrendered my body to the beabis from the first moment, and to all the changes that are not under my control anymore. But here it isn’t about gaining extra kilos, but my energy level. I am aware that until August I will gain a lot (the midwife recommended me to gain at least 13 kilos to be in the graphics), and I will still allow me to eat the things I want, including pizza and sweets, as long as they are accepted into my body.

What I want to do next is to (re)implement some habits that have been working for me at some point and we will see if they will also help me now, being sure that I’am not forcing anything, just supporting a positive state of well-being. Today I printed out a calendar to be able to document them in a physical form, and in the habits category I introduced the following: morning smoothie (with spinach if possible), 20-30 minute of yoga everyday (I follow a very sweet girl on youtube, Adrianne, who has really nice yoga sessions), swimming 2 times a week (I am a bit skeptical about this one but we will see), plus a few activities for my personal interest such as writing for the blog and drawing illustrations related to our pregnancy. And all these new habits will happen along with working for my master thesis and other extra projects that are work in progress.

I hope that by having a more defined program I will be able to accomplish most of them, especially because in this period I really need more time for myself (so I think the new habits are quite aligned with it). I will come back with some more details if this new schedule is working or not. ^_^
